BREW SHIELD
Unique solutions for the Brewing industry
The brewing industry is highly competitive, with brewers focused on producing quality beer with unique and flavourful profiles, much of this relies upon sensitive organic hop and bittering compounds that are highly sensitive to ageing and staling. Up until now brewers relied exclusively upon expensive cold chain and refrigerated storage to try and preserve their original brewed flavor. Brewshield is now able to provide a layer of protection to extend the “fresh window” and shelf life.
PROTECT YOUR BEER
The essential hop and bitterness character in your beer are the first to disappear after packaging, later on aroma and color begins to diminish often taking place over weeks rather than months.
Brewshield’s 100% natural organically certified stabiliser, bio-engineered to ensure that your beer can stand up to time, heat and handling, leaving it tasting like it was just brewed, for as long as possible.
Brewshield has been used in award winning beers, find out how we can help you protect your beers.
PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT
Brewers make substantial investments into brewing quality beer, in the case of craft breweries this cost goes up substantially. Much of this investment is down to creating unique and flavourful beer in a highly competitive market.
A significant portion of these costs are in the hops and grains that deliver unique botanical and bitter profiles, research has shown that these are the first to disappear after packaging. Brewshield assists brewers in making beer that tastes as good as it did when brewed.
COLD CHAIN, WITHDRAWLS AND LOST CUSTOMERS
Brewshield not only assists in assuring product quality but it helps extend shelf life and mitigate out of code and quality with-drawls. The cost of these are not only in written off stock and lost sales but a very real cost to dispose, cost of customer dissatisfaction and impaired relationships with distribution and retail partners.
By being able to better protect your beer you are able to ship further, export more and sleep better at night knowing your great tasting product stays that way !
PROVEN PROTECTION
Through the most advanced laboratory testings (Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Spectroscopy – EPR) we are able to show a 78% overall reduction in oxidative and beer staling indicators.
This means that Brewshield is absorbing the oxidative elements in your beer, soaking up those same oxidants that degrade beer’s flavor, aroma and color molecules.
THE REAL COST OF STABILITY
The cost of stability is often overlooked, beer that past it’s prime is still ‘ok’ and the impact of quality is often unmeasured until market share declines.
We have analysed the real costs of beer stability including the investments brewers make in secure cold chain, key ingredients that diminish fast, pasteurisation and other mechanical technologies and the costs add up fast !
The total real cost of beer stability is as high as $ 0.76 per can of beer mainly based upon the cost of premium ingredients , recall costs for an average brewery (including out of code stock) and investment in logistics, pasteurisation and cold chain.
This makes the Brewshield cost per litre insignificant in the face of these stability costs.
STOAK RANGE OF PRESERVATIVES
MOLECULAR ACTION OF OUR LIQUID OAK RANGE
Stoak’s extracts are all in highly concentrated liquid form, this has major benefits for our clients as it means simple addition with no mixing, preparation, mess or fuss. The extract goes to work immediately as it engages with the product immediately on a molecular level allowing for rapid and predictable integration.
There are no risks of scalping normally associated with powders, no need for lengthly circulation associated with solids and no requirement for post-addition filtration, simply add, pump through and allow our extract to do its work.

Our drive is to better understand how nature is acting in our product and how this can assist food and beverage clients in meeting both their current and future product development and stability challenges as well as saving on costs in essential production processes.
NO ADDED FLAVOR, COLOR OR AROMA
Our preservation products have all been extensively tested to ensure that they do not interfere in any way with your existing recipe or product profile.
The Stoak range of preservatives have been specifically formulated and extracted to make sure that we are only targeting the congeners, tannins and phenols specifically aimed to preserve, not flavor.
Dosing rates are extremely low and testing has been carried out on extremely sensitive food types with no identifiable change. We work closely with all of our clients to ensure that any concerns are managed at the trial phase.
BESPOKE ASSISTANCE AND TESTING
Stoak regularly engages with its clients to assess and test the unique requirements of their product development teams. This involves product formulation, extract variant analysis as well as product application testing.
We have trail protocols, white papers and programs setup to undertake full evaluation and testing to provide proof of concept and stability analysis with our clients. In all cases we work hand in hand with the client developing the right mix of ingredients for use in their products.
