Madeva is used to rejuvenate barrels by the simple application of the product. It removes all the complexity out of mechanical rejuvenation involving scraping, toasting, re-charring by skilled coopers. It is far simpler than the addition of chips, poles, staves and other wood additions and does not require the de-stacking and opening of barrels to remove these additions. An often overlooked cost when adding staves, poles, blocks and chips is the displacement created by these additions, reducing production output and of greater concern is the absorption of the distillate by these additions, resulting in lost production. Madeva does not suffer these issues.
